Darren Cahill reported a year-long coaching break on Instagram, which means he and Roland Garros champion Simona Halep will no long cooperate ahead of the 2019 season.
The 53-year-old Australian helped Romanian star Halep to a maiden Grand Slam triumph at Roland Garros in June and in addition a year-finishing world best spot to crown their four-year partnership.
He had previously coached Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi.
The Australian announced the split on Instagram. on Friday, saying that he had personal matters to attend to at home, and was officially taking a 12-month hiatus from coaching.
